I am going to give you my team and my series winners for the first round of the playoffs, most of the individual game plays will be in the NHL playoff package for only 44.95. So here we go:
Winnipeg Jets vs Las Vegas Golden Knights
good goaltending can be the deciding reason why teams win playoff rounds. We think this series is going to be one of those times. Hellebuyck is in his prime, and this Jets team is playing desperate-but-effective hockey. Don’t be surprised if Winnipeg upsets the Golden Knights. The Jets have what it takes to do it. Winnipeg in 6 or 7.
Seattle Kraken vs Colorado Avalanche
Ultimately, the Avalanche have depth, star power to spare and a goalie who normally gives them enough to win games. This will be a valuable learning experience for Seattle’s youngsters, but it will more than likely be a losing experience for them. Colorado in 6.
Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers
Kings are looking for vengeance after the Oilers eliminated them in last season’s first round. L.A. nearly won that series, taking it to seven games before Edmonton won Game 7. The margin for error is razor-thin The oilers are a high flying machine and are playing well at the right time we feel this is going to be a great series with the Edmonton Oilers in 6.
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild
Dallas is on fire entering this year’s post-season. Since Feb. 27, they’ve only once lost more than two games in a row, Dallas went 16-5-1 in their final 22 games of the season, and they’re a better, deeper team on paper than Minnesota is. Oettinger is the best goalie in the series, which is another advantage for the Stars. This series could go seven games, but we also think the Stars are good enough to make quick work of the Wild. Dallas in 5.
