It’s been tough skating for us on the ice over the last two weeks. On Feb. 23, we were 16-7-2 (+8.56u) over our last 25 plays and 70-59-4 (+12.58u) on the season. Boy, have the times changed.
Last night we took a play with some juice: Nashville over 0.5 goals 1P (-175). It cashed and we snapped a four bet losing streak. We’ve been ice cold but we were in the lab already last night, so let’s get back to our winning ways.
YTD: 79-80-6 (-1.97u)
Canadiens +260 (0.5u)
Carolina has won the last four meetings between these two teams but three of those have come at home. Montreal’s lost three straight and are 4-6 over its last 10 games but home teams in this matchup have performed well as they are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings. The Hurricanes, who are 7-3 over their last 10 games are just 5-12 in their last 17 meetings in Montreal. We saw on Monday night, three underdogs win outright, so I’ll take a half-unit chance with the Canadiens on their home ice tonight.
Maple Leafs +115 (1u)
Toronto faces a New Jersey team that’s been a heater lately. The Devils are 7-2-1 over their last 10 games but the Maple Leafs have dominated this series. Toronto is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings and 5-0 in the last five meetings in New Jersey. In what I expect to be a low scoring game, I’ll take the Maple Leafs as a small underdog on the road.
Islanders -165 (1.65u)
Buffalo is on a back-to-back and they suffered a 3-2 loss to Edmonton on Monday. The Sabres have not had success in New York and the home team has is 18-5 in the last 23 meetings of this series. Buffalo is 1-10 against the Islanders on the road and the favorite is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. With it being their second game in two days for the Sabres, I think getting New York under -175 on the money line is a solid play for tonight.
