NCAAW betting market report: Recap, Daily picks and Analysis 11/21

It sucks to be you if you missed Sunday’s NCAAW action. The game I was invested in the most (betting wise) was NC State vs. UConn but they was hardly the best game of the day. Stanford forgot how many timeouts they had. Maryland silenced the haters (including myself). Villanova escaped an upset over Temple to keep their perfect season alive and LSU remains an auto tail no matter how aggressive they are favored by.

YTD Record: 44-22 (+22.19u)

Sunday Recap

Our Sunday (6-4, +2.15u) could’ve been better but it also could’ve been worse. We had Iona -8.5 and they beat Sacred Heart 65-56, while West Virginia (-20.5) came away with a 72-51 win. On the flip side, Virginia (-15) defeated American by 14 and Michigan (-19.5), who had a 22-point lead once trailed Fairfield by five and shot nearly 50 percent from the floor in its 69-53 win over the Stags.

Nonetheless, we continue to stack positive days on top of each other and are up over 22 units through the first 13 days of the 2022-23 season. Let’s take a look at today’s action.

Top 25

#14 Virginia Tech (3-0) @ Kentucky (4-0)

Virginia Tech has outscored its first three opponents 247-110 and I’m excited to see how good this Hokies defense is. Yes, they are first in points allowed (36.7) but they’ve played South Carolina Upstate, Bucknell and Mount St. Mary’s. Kentucky has done its job as well with wins over Radford, Morehead State, Coastal Carolina and Bellarmine. I’m thinking VTU is going to be a 6-8 point favorite and I don’t hate backing the Hokies here especially with that talented offense that features five student-athletes averaging double-figures.

#25 Utah (4-0) @ Alabama (2-1)

Much like Indiana, Utah has been a wagon this year. They are coming off a 124-78 win over Oklahoma and now take on an Alabama team that lost to South Florida 67-59 on Wednesday. Utah has the more talented group in this contest and if Crimson Tide leading scorer Brittany Davis struggles like she did against USF it could be a long night for Alabama.

Best Bets

Harvard (2-1)

This is mostly just a fade of Merrimack because they are terrible. Harvard is coming off a 77-67 loss to UMass but the Minutewomen are going to be a strong squad this season, so that’s not a bad loss. Until I see it from the Warriors, they are an auto fade.

South Dakota State ML (3-2)

This might be a stretch to add to our best bets section because I think it’s more of a value play but I’m a big fan of this play today. I said it last week that I think Louisville are frauds and I wouldn’t be stunned to see South Dakota State hand them its second straight loss. I think Hailey Van Lith is a great player. A must watch player but I’m a firm believer in team basketball. She’s averaging over 18 shot attempts per contest and is struggling from beyond the arc through four games (4-for-20). I like this Jackrabbit squad and they realistically could be off to a 4-0 start with wins over Creighton and UCLA.
