The boys are coming off a 2-1 day yesterday and looking to get some momentum going here. We’ve got four bets today and a few are in early games so I don’t want to waste your time. Let’s discuss.
Seattle Mariners F5 +0.5 -105 Seattle Mariners ML +150 (Half on each)
Man… I know the Yankees are good and it’s scary to go against them but this is a great line. Just a ton of value here with how good Luis Castillo has been over the last month and also when you factor in he traveled to Yankee stadium last last month and shut NYY down over 7 innings of 1 run ball. Gerrit Cole is good obviously but you & I both know he’s a bit overrated and this Mariners offense can bring the heat. I feel like I bring it up every time I go against Gerrit Cole but his HR/9 and HR/FB are both NOT good. I think the Mariners can jump all over him here and Castillo should be able to do the rest. Will it be a tough matchup? Yes, but the value is perfect here to bet on the veteran Castillo and fade Gerrit Cole.
KC Royals Team Total OVER 3.5 -125 (POD)
Yessir you know what day it is today! Lance Lynn day. Listen, I like Lynn so I hate to say it but Lance has lost his touch. And in a BIG way. In six of his last eight starts this year he’s given up 5+ runs. He’s got an HR/9 of 1.89 (Terrible), an ERA of 6.42, and his batting average on balls in play is .324 (yeah.. not good). Lots of hard contact off the guy right now. And I mean the Royals offense has been surprisingly quite decent at times this year (even if they did just lose big bats in Benintendi and Merrifield). I mean four runs in this matchup is just disrespectful with how bad Lynn has been. Any team could hit him right now, but the Royals actually have some good bats with Perez, Witt Jr., Dozier, etc. — I think they are more than capable of getting four tonight. Love this number.
Miami Marlins F5 -0.5 -130
Well, we just celebrated Lance Lynn day from a hitter perspective but now we celebrate Sandy Alcantara day from a pitching perspective. The guy has the second lowest ERA in the majors right now and on any given night could give you a 7 inning 0 runs allowed type performance. The Marlins bats will be the concern though. Plain and simple the Marlins offense has sucked lately. Like sucked REAL BAD. But there’s good news. Mike Minor is horrible and this should be a perfect “get right” spot for the offense. Truthfully, if they can even string together 1-2 runs that could very well be enough for Sandy Alcantara to get us this W. I am fully expecting Alcantara to pitch another gem here, we just need the offense to pull their weight.
That’s all for today, folks. Enjoy your Wednesday and let’s cash some tickets!
