VFC’s Best Bets 5/25/22

Okay fine, I won’t bet on the Reds anymore. I am talking zero of their games (for or against them) going forward. That’s right, the Reds are DNB’ed! Although the Reds did let us down yesterday, we recovered nicely with a no sweat Mavericks win and a push that felt like we should have won in the NHL. All of that brings yesterday’s record to 1-1-1 (-0.09u). I am ready to get back after it today with some plays that I love and I am determined to win a baseball play, so let’s start there.

Athletics @ Mariners o3.5 F5 (-115) 1u to win .87u

I recognize that we have a pair of solid pitchers in this matchup today in Blackburn and Ray but I can’t steer away from how hot the bats have been early for these teams. They put up 9 total runs in the F5 yesterday and 10 total runs in the F5 the game before that. Blackburn has given up multiple runs on the road early twice this year while Ray has done the same. I feel great about getting 4 runs here.

Celtics -2 (-110) 1u to win .91u

I am not a massive fan of taking road favorites but this feels like a great spot for the Celtics. I went more in to depth on this game on the Gambling Feud podcast. This mainly boils down to injuries for me. As of writing this blog it looks like Herro and Robert Williams will play and Marcus Smart seems very up in the air. It was reported that if during the regular season, Herro’s injury would lead him to be out for 2-4 weeks. It seems like if he plays tonight, it will be a little rushed. Assuming Williams is good to go, like my dear friend DJ mentioned, the Celtics are 2-0 when he is in the lineup. I expect a semi close game here as the Heat do shoot much better at home but I will take the Celtics in this spot.

Value POD: Avalanche -2.5 (+185) 1u to win 1.85u

This series has done a complete 180 since the injury to Jordan Binnington. The Avs have looked dominate since then and I don’t see them slowing down tonight. Even though Husso is no slouch, I expect goals in this game (on the o6.5 as well). I see the Avalanche closing this one out at home and because it is an elimination spot for the Blues, I could see an empty netter or two pushing us over this number.

YTD Record: 2-3-1 (-0.74u)
