Monday usually gets us off to a great start for the week, and yesterday was no exception, as we went 4-1 with a plus-money victory in the Premier League. The lone exception was the Senators, who managed to hand the Blackhawks their first win of the season in an ugly loss. But with that being the only blemish, we came out with a 3.25-unit victory and we’re ready to get back on it. Here are my best bets for November 2.
EASTERN MICHIGAN-TOLEDO U53.5, -110
Toledo’s defense is riding a six-game under streak, and the Rockets’ pass defense is a big reason why. Eastern Michigan did score 55 points against Bowling Green the week before, but Toledo’s defense is a lot stronger against the pass than the Falcons’ defense, and the Eagles don’t have the running game to take advantage of the Rockets’ less-effective front seven, which makes this another likely under situation.
MIAMI-OHIO O52.5, -110
These teams have tended to play lower-scoring games, but Ohio’s defense is horrendous this season and the Bobcats’ offense is better than it’s shown this season. Ohio’s averaging 28.5 points per game against MAC competition, and if that replicates itself here, Miami just has to hit its scoring average in order to cash this number. I think the RedHawks can do that in this situation.
PELICANS-SUNS O216.5, -110
I love betting basketball totals because if you can figure out the pace of play, you can give yourself a good opportunity to get a win. That’s what we’ve got here, as both teams are in the top 15 of pace of play and both have issues with their defenses at the moment. New Orleans has a bottom-five defense and the Suns have some injury problems, so this is a reasonable target as long as both teams shoot a reasonable percentage.
SENATORS-WILD U5.5, -110
Ottawa’s attack was a mess against the Blackhawks last night, and they’re on night two of a back-to-back against a Wild team that isn’t shooting well at all. Dead legs might be a factor here, and the Wild’s past two games have seen them score just a single goal each, so this reads under.
BALL STATE-AKRON U58.5, -110
This total has been pushed a little too high. The Cardinals should have no problem putting up points, but the Zips probably aren’t going to respond in kind, which likely means Ball State backs off in the second half. This might be a better bet for the over in the first half, so you might want to wait to live-bet the under and try to get a better number.
