The other shoe finally dropped Wednesday with a 1-4 evening, but the one was the only underdog, so the damage was a lot less bad than it could have been. We’re now onto Thursday and hoping to get back on track with at least one of these parlays. Last week was a week of near-misses, so hopefully, we can make a good combination to create a winner. Here are my best plays for October 28.
FOOTBALL PARLAY: PACKERS-CARDINALS U51.5, COASTAL CAROLINA -17, EAST CAROLINA -9.5, +510
Until further notice, Thursday night NFL games are automatic under bets, and with the Packers down Davante Adams, this looks like it’s going to fail to hit the total. Arizona has an excellent defense along with its attention-grabbing offense, and eight of the teams’ past nine meetings have gone under. East Carolina has looked very capable against better teams in the American and should have too much for South Florida at home, and as long as Coastal is still motivated after losing to App State, the Chanticleers should have no issues with Troy.
BASKETBALL PARLAY: HAWKS-WIZARDS U223, BULLS -1.5, GRIZZLIES +7.5, +500
Atlanta and Washington are both in schedule-loss territory, as both teams played Wednesday and both are traveling (Atlanta from New Orleans and Washington from Boston), so this is likely to be an awful game that sees both teams struggle to hit triple digits. Chicago is playing very well to start the year and facing a Knicks team whose record looks a bit soft, and Memphis has been a fine bounce-back team, covering in nine of its past 11 games. NBA games are my biggest weakness in October, but I think these have a good chance.
HOCKEY PARLAY: LIGHTNING ML, CANUCKS ML, SHARKS ML, +300
The Flyers came through for me yesterday, but they’re looking at the second night on a back-to-back and coming down from the emotional high of handing Edmonton its first loss. Vancouver already won in Philadelphia and has a good shot to take advantage of tired legs here. The Canadiens look completely lost without Price and have been almost completely devoid of offense, which should make them easy Shark bait in the Tank. The Coyotes look even more hopeless than Montreal, and the Lightning appear to finally have their legs under them, so they should be fine at home. Tampa has burned me all season, but I think I can trust the Bolts to get a win at home over Arizona.
