Pumba’s Week 6 Plays

Some bad losses in week 5 gave me another disappointing week. But my season record of 11-14-1 is about to improve with these picks!

Jaguars +3

I’ve been declaring for days that the Jaguars are going to win this week. Jaguars continue to improve and managed to outgain the Titans while losing by 18 last week. Meanwhile the Dolphins are getting worked on both sides of the ball game after game and I’m hoping my Jags can continue that trend. If the Jaguars don’t win this game the all-time losing streak may be staring them right in the face soon.

Lions +3.5

Not entirely sure why I like this play but I do. Lions suffered another devastating loss to a long field goal in week 5 and just seem due for something to go their way. This week the Bengals come to town who could easily be 5-0 or 1-4. All but 1 of the Bengals’ games this season have been decided by a field goal so +3.5 feels like a good play.

6 Point Teaser – Packers ML, Chiefs -1

Only concerning part of this bet is both of these teams are on the road. Fields has looked fairly good for the Bears so far but Big Bad Aaron Rodgers is coming to town and I don’t think the Bears will have the offense to keep up. Chiefs have certainly had a shaky start to the season, but similar to Chicago, I don’t see Washington having the offensive power to keep up with the Chiefs.

Raiders +4

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 3 times, I’m just an idiot. I’ve lost 3 weeks in a row betting on the Raiders. I don’t know why I think this team is good but every week I continue to bet on them. I think I heard a little something about the Raiders head coach resigning but I think that inspires them this week. Broncos are 3-2 this season but their 3 wins are against teams that are a combined 2-13 on the season.

6 Point Teaser – Seahawks +11, SEA/PIT Over 37

Geno Smith looked solid last week after replacing Russell Wilson. Seahawks will end up without Wilson for at least the next few weeks but have enough talent at WR that this team will still be able to put up points in his absence. Besides somehow beating the Bills week 1, the Steelers haven’t been very impressive this season. Steelers are coming off a win but this team can only go as far as Big Ben and his old knees can take them. It won’t be easy for the Seahawks to win on the road in Pittsburgh but I think they will keep it close.
