Dallas’ Prediction: (14-3)
Is it really that far fetched to believe that this team may not lose a game all season? With the best quarterback in the NFL, a first round running back returning for year 2, and very dynamic receiving options, I truly don’t believe so. The offensive line has a whole new look – adding pro bowlers Joe Thuney and Orlando Brown allowing for Patrick Mahomes to run through his progressions and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to glide through gaping holes in the defense. I would take this over based on the offense alone. Chris Jones is now attacking on the EDGE and reports from camp are saying he could compete with the likes of Chase Young and Jalen Ramsay for DPOY. The secondary and linebacking core are a bit nerve-racking but we are hoping Tyrann Mathieu will hold down the back end to make teams settle for field goals. While the defense could be a bit of a liability, Patrick Mahomes has explicitly stated that he wants to go 20-0 this season (including the playoffs) and I believe the only reason the Chiefs wont be able to do that will be because they play their second unit week 18 or major injuries. Keep in mind the Chiefs destroyed Josh Allen and the Bills in the AFC Championship game last season. Also, beat the Browns in the playoffs with backup Chad Henne playing most of the second half. A pretty favorable schedule battling against the NFC East and AFC title contenders visiting Arrowhead instead of on the road leads me to believe the Chiefs will lock up yet another number one seed. Take this over and relax knowing the Chiefs are scoring 30+ week in and week out.
