Kyle’s Lock of the Day: Youngstown State -1.5

Once again, I am going to dig in the weeds for this pick. Youngstown State and Detroit are yet another two teams at the low end of their conference. Not many will even look at this game or circle it on their calendars, so this is an opportunity to get in the mix of a game that most betters may not even focus on. Youngstown State’s record hasn’t showed it this year, but they have been playing some solid basketball.

Leading the charge for the Penguins is returning All-Horizon first team member, Darius Quisenberry. He has been playing well as of late, and he has had a lot of help from the team’s leading scorer, Naz Bohannon (17.5 points, 8.5 reb). Having a one-two combination like these two have been key for the penguins this year. They compliment well off of each other and they force teams to focus in on both of them. This is where Detroit is going to struggle. Detroit’s big men have struggled this year, and I think they will have a tough time guarding Bohannon. When this happens, the defense will be focused to pay particular attention to him, which is when Quisenberry can take over the game.

Those two alone are going to be too tough for Detroit to stop, which is why I think Youngstown State covers easy today against Detroit.

Remember, even in sports betting, you have to read between the lines.
