Puck Talk Pick of the Day 1/28/21

You want to talk about having a night, your boy had a night last night. We had Elias Pettersson over 2.5 SOG, and the ML parlay. Vancouver was never in doubt, but boy were we SWEATING that Hawks/Preds game last night. 0-0 game going into the third, Preds score to take a 1-0 lead and the Hawks score late to tie it. Overtime was an absolute roller coaster. Chicago had about 7 chances in OT to win the game, but no one scored and to a shootout we went. Matt Duchene scored the only goal in the shootout on a beautiful back hand, top shelf goal.

Onto tonight, we have 14 games on the slate. I am very intrigued to see how the Hurricanes play in their restart against Tampa Bay. Toronto and Edmonton are getting together again in Alberta, the Canucks take on the hapless Senators for what seems like the 17th time this season, Pittsburgh-Boston again, but I’m heading to the Mile High City for my pick tonight.

I love what Colorado is doing so far this season. Coming in, we knew they were going to have a dynamic offense, and they have not disappointed. They beat this same Sharks team on Tuesday night 7-3, and I can only see their offense getting better. Nathan McKinnon is probably the best player in the world at the moment, and as he goes, they go. I think the Avs can hit this over by themselves again tonight. We just need one or two goals from San Jose.

Take Over 6 in the Avs/Sharks game.

Side note: I have a bone to pick with the Colorado Avalanche. I have always liked their jerseys and their logo, but what the hell are they doing with the helmet and pants this year?? It is absolutely atrocious.

Barf emoji. There is way too much blue going on with that uniform now. They look much worse on TV. Go back to white helmets and maroon pants. Please. I am begging you.
